Why create this website?

When my son was first diagnosed with Autism back in 2002, there were not a lot of resources available at that time. There was no support group when I lived in Florida. It was a lot of work to try and figure out the next step. Okay, now I have a diagnosis? Where do I go from here? I learned very quickly on my own how to navigate through the school system without an advocate. I became my son's advocate because financially, I couldn't afford any other route. He's always been able to get exactly what he needs. Once I moved to Georgia I was able to find better support. However, because I worked in a school system not a lot of people were very eager to let me into their special needs groups. My son has always come first and I would never share information with someone else regarding another child. However, I do understand why certain groups have rules like that. In other words, it was hard, but thank God there were a few people that helped me along my path.

This website was designed with you in mind! I feel like I have gone through so much and I have had the support of an amazing God who always has my back. I hope in some small way that I can pour my time and knowledge and help others out in some way. It is a journey, but it doesn't have to be all difficult. The journey is much easier when you feel the support of others going through the same thing as you, or at least in similar situations.

Feel free to send me an email about any questions you have! I will try to respond to you in a reasonable amount of time. I work full time in the school system and do this as a part time gig, so be patient if I don't get back to you right away.

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11
